SideQuest: Philosophy Retreats

Philosophy-retreat-rasmi-athens-parthenon

Welcome to SideQuest, an immersive philosophy retreat designed to revive the ancient tradition of philosophical dialogue in beautiful locations around the world.

Each event I organize provides a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, explore cultural landmarks, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Why SideQuest? These retreats allow you to step away from your daily routine to explore life’s deeper questions. It’s about taking time to reflect on important ideas and personal growth.

During these retreats, you’ll participate in a mix of workshops, philosophy walks, and symposiums. We use the Socratic method to explore topics such as decision-making, the quest for meaning, and ethical frameworks, and any other topic of interest.

You’ll walk through historic cities, following in the footsteps of renowned philosophers, and enjoy symposiums with drinks and cheese, inspired by Plato’s dialogue Symposium.

Each year, the retreat is held in a different captivating city, offering fresh perspectives and new experiences.

SideQuest is a journey of personal growth, cultural exploration, and meaningful connections.

The spots are limited to no more than five participants to ensure a personalized and intimate experience.

In 2025, the philosophy retreat will probably occur in Sils Maria, Switzerland.

Below is Nietzsche’s house, where he lived for several summers. What could be better than a retreat in the same place where Nietzsche and many other prominent writers, philosophers, and intellectuals (Jung, Mann, Hesse, etc.) spent their time, took walks, and wrote? Seats will be limited to no more than 5 people.

Philosophy Retreat, Salamanca (2024)

Below are a few pictures from the 2024 retreat I organized in the enchanting Spanish city of Salamanca.

Salamanca is especially relevant philosophically because it was home to the eminent Spanish existentialist philosopher Miguel de Unamuno.

The city’s rich history and intellectual legacy provided the perfect backdrop for our discussions and explorations. Enjoy a glimpse into our philosophical journey in this beautiful city.
